Apple has been heavy in the 'switch' campaign for some time now, and with every "Oh my god this is great!" switcher, there's the "Windows totally works better" and the "Linux is so much better for these reasons." Each blog post like them is full of bullet points that instead of saying "I don't know how to do x" they say "OS X sucks because it doesn't do x."
I'll say it again: Computers are tools, and tools accomplish tasks. You need to choose the right tool for your task. If you don't want to use OS X, that's fine. Have a nice life. I know that parts of OS X suck, and they bother me, but I use it for the tasks for which it is the best tool. It's not a media event, though. Nobody cares. We've all made our own decisions for our own reasons.

It's often said that you shouldn't compare apples and oranges—generally used figuratively, but even looking at it literally you can see that it's not true. You need to compare apples and oranges when you're deciding what to pack in your lunch. What you can't do is compare apples and oranges and somehow conclusively prove that one is better than the other.
Spot on, Tim.
