No, I didn't get to see Star Wars.
We thought it might be fun to have a little SoCo before the movie. As my friend Jon once said, "Why waste perfectly good inhabition if you're not going to go screw with people?" Personally, I drank more SoCo than I should have, and in one of the proudest moments of my youth, I slept on Matt's couch instead of watching Star Wars on opening night.

"Sorry, trav, but you don't seem like the type of person who'd be big into Star Wars. I mean, you and a girlfriend and all..."

What I want for the next version of OS X: native support for multiple desktops, like almost every window manager for X has.
To this day, even though I never noticed it before someone (Jeff, I think) pointed it out, I can't listen to Ben Folds Five's Steven's Last Night in Town without hearing the phone ringing in the background at the end of the song. I don't know if that's cool or annoying. Cool, I suppose.
Comments:
"Kind of like how I can't listen to the piano ending of Faith No More's "Epic" without thinking about the fish flopping around on the ground. "

A Parent's Guide to Satanic Cult Ritual Abuse: This guy should write for SNL.
Believe it or not! Here's Amy Grant, on the Michael W. Smith, In Concert (Reunion Records, 1985) video tape flashing the "Satanic salute." This is NOT the sign language for "I love you", where the thumb is openly extended. Amy deliberately flashes the "satanic salute" at least two separate times on the video, displaying it for several seconds. Amy is promoting Satan. There is a definite spirit invoked in rock music, secular or Christian - and it's NOT the Holy Spirit! And many times, people involved in rock music get "caught up in this unholy spirit"!Who knew?

Don't Drink the Water: I guess Dave Matthews Band wasn't quite as hypocritical as some conclusion-jumpers thought, considering they weren't on board their tour bus when it dumped 800 pounds of human waste on a tour boat passing under a bridge. Dave is on the board of Farm Aid, and the idea of such blatent pollution worried many until the driver of the bus recanted his previous statement that he "had nothing to do with the incident" and pled guilty to dumping the bus' septic tank while crossing a bridge. Regardless, the band has donated $50,000 to the Friends of the Chicago River and another $50,000 to the Chigaco Park District.
