I got another job request today, which read as follows:

Hi,

Requirement:
Position: Oracle HRMS Functional -- HR/Payroll
Duration: Till Jan,06

I may be a bad person, but I couldn't help it:
revert v.
1. To return to a former condition, practice, subject, or belief.

reply v.
1. To give an answer in speech or writing.
2. To respond by an action or gesture.

This concludes today's grammar lesson. Good luck trying to find someone to fill the position.

At least I resisted the temptation to add, "PS. There's no bloody way you can afford to successfully persuade me to move to Oregon, much less to use Oracle while I'm there."
See? I've got some tact left.

Two grand? Are you kidding? Nevermind that a P4 can brute-force an NT password in a couple of hours, there is a myriad of tools that can reset NT passwords, all of them free, most of them Free.

Terrorism is a tool of manipulation. I have hope that the British people will stand up to this attempt to manipulate them, and go forward with understanding of what happened and why, not ignorant retaliation. Unfortuately, I have less hope that our respective governments won't use it to manipulate our people into allowing them to continue the behavior that instigates such violence.
Fortunately, Suw is in San Francisco. A quick text to Maciej to send her my love, and now it's on with my day.

""...continue the behavior that instigates such violence." I disagree with this statement. Was it Kennedy who said, "Your right to swing your arm ends where my nose begins"? There. I believe I quoted a Democrat for you. Sagapo, poli. "

I've been wrestling with a certain conundrum lately: conservation is expensive. Therefore those with the ability to conserve are those who have the least inclination to do so.
The energy issues really bother me, so I'd really like to get a Prius, but even the used ones are $20k. Anyone with 20 grand to drop on a car is well on their way to a Hummer. A tax on high-petroleum vehicles would be a good idea--the funds from which offered as grants to those who desire a hybrid car.
