2001-11-07 11:03:15 * Yesterday I was hanging out at the Service Center, and Supervisor Deb snagged me to do some design work for a bit. So, yesterday, I did some graphics work... and it was good. I miss doing design so much. I want to do more, I want to sit and play with photoshop for hours on end. I remember last fall I sat for six hours solid and played with a logo I was working on until it just how I wanted, and it was clensing. Unfortunately, I'm not much further ahead now than I was last week. My quest for boredom is coming along much more slowly than I had anticipated. I will have the dicipline to do my work. I will have the focus to work efficiently and stay on task. I will not blow and hour just to take a road trip to Wal-Mart to buy milk because I want a bowl of cereal at 11 p.m. I will be bored. The most wonderful, beautiful, amazing, precious thing came in the post today. Rivaling even my copy of Electric Honey on vinyl. Sweet Nicole sent me a print. A self-portrait that is so beautiful, I can't even express. I got to talk to Jeff today, followed by a trip to McDonald's where I bought five cheeseburgers. I'm on #3 right now. After bitching yesterday, I had a talk with my dad yesterday evening, followed by a talk with my mom last night, and today, I had a talk with my assembly instructor. What has this done for me? I'm ready to kick some assembly project ass. This little bitch of a M68000 program is going down hardcore, yo. Plus, I got paid today, and it was an obscene amount of money I wasn't expecting. Plus, I got my midterm back for Media Writing 210; I aced it. 100%, bitch. Then, next class period, I got my assembly exam back. I got a B. A full five points higher than the class average. When I was a kid, I remember my mom telling me some of the best advice I've ever gotten... Travis, things are never as bad, or as good, as they seem at the time. Good point, there.
