I've been blogging for 1.5-2 years. I don't own a domain, but I have my own web address. I use Blogger, BigBlogTool, or similar service to update a blogspot, Geocities, or other hosted site; or I use diaryland, livejournal, or another service with built-in updating and content management. I link only to sites I like to read (and sites that I have time to read) on a regular basis. As far as stats go, I am amazed that someone keeps track of how many people visit my site. I don't link to, nor read, any of the standard A-list blogs (Megnut, Kottke, Robot Wisdom, etc.). In fact, I've never heard of 'em. I don't post that frequently. In fact, I'm lucky if I manage to post 2 or 3 new entries a week. I blog from either home or work, but only after my work is done and when I get some free time. My entries are a mix of some original material, some web links, and links and comments about other blogs. I haven't bedded another blogger yet, but I certainly wouldn't rule it out if the opportunity presented itself. I have posted at least a photo of my face on my blog, but not much more. I rarely find a meme or web survey I don't enjoy, and I find myself blogging the results to most of them. Friends know about my blog, but I generally don't talk about it with some groups (ie: family and/or co-workers) because they probably wouldn't get the whole blogging concept.
